Dani Olmo rules out Manchester City transfer

Dani Olmo rules out Manchester City transfer

Dani Olmo has ruled out a move to ‘big club’ Manchester City, claiming he is perfectly happy at RB Leipzig and looking forward to the season ahead.

Dani Olmo was supposed to make his long-awaited big move out of Germany and sign for one of Spani’s elite or the top-four Premier League side in the summer. Despite plenty of speculation linking the 25-year-old Bundesliga star to many top clubs, he chose to remain at RB Leipzig.

A decision that indeed surprised many, Olmo decided to sign a new four-year contract to stay at RB Leipzig and remain committed to the cause as one of their top players. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City were all interested at some stage in the Spaniard, but he chose a different direction.

Despite signing that new contract, fresh links with Manchester City emerged in the last few days amid the situation with Lucas Paqueta. Pep Guardiola sought a new attacking midfielder to bolster his ranks and replace the departed Ilkay Gundogan.

Having signed Mateo Kovacic, the Croatian does not suit the requirement of a creative hub, something Gundogan did so expertly. Having entered a critical phase in their negotiations with West Ham, a sudden betting allegation on Paqueta may have led Manchester City to move on from talks.

Naturally, for what Paqueta brought to any side, Olmo may have similar qualities, hence the links to Manchester City. However, the 25-year-old Bundesliga star has no intention of leaving Leipzig in this window, as his comments on Fabrizio Romano’s tweet suggest he’s looking forward to the season.

Olmo said, “There is nothing! I’m fully focused on the task in Leipzig, the Bundesliga, the UCL and the cup”.

“Man City are a big club — one of the biggest in the world. Josko Gvardiol] went there. But I’m happy here”.

Speaking of Josko Gvardiol, who only joined Man City recently, the two clubs must have had an excellent relationship to complete that deal. It would have given the impression that Man City may have developed a good rapport with Leipzig to get the Olmo deal over the line.

For what it is, Olmo seems determined to continue shining for Leipzig. In any case, the Bundesliga side will demand exponentially for the 25-year-old attacker if Man City wanted him at all costs. Hence, while Paqueta might have been a solid acquisition, Olmo isn’t available this summer.

With Messi's incredible skills and the support of his teammates, Miami has won every game since his arrival and has advanced to the final of the Leagues Cup. Prior to Messi joining, Miami had struggled to score goals, managing only 22 in 22 MLS matches. However, with Messi's influence, they have scored an impressive 21 goals in just six Leagues Cup matches. While the Leagues Cup is a different tournament, it provides an opportunity for Miami to qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League. In the semi-final against Philadelphia Union, Miami displayed great efficiency, scoring four goals with just four shots on target. Messi himself scored a remarkable long-range goal, reminiscent of his strike against Mallorca in 2012. Nashville SC, Miami's opponent in the final, has faced tougher competition but is expected to be overcome by...
