The real reason why Harry Maguire rejected the chance to join West Ham

Ex-Premier League manager Sam Allardyce has revealed why Manchester United defender Harry Maguire rejected a move to West Ham.

Asked about Maguire's destination before the transfer window closes, Allardyce stated on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast: "Manchester United.
"He declined West Ham's offer. I have a close relationship with his agent.
"I believe – without disrespecting West Ham, as I previously managed them – Maguire is seeking a more prominent opportunity, considering the challenges they faced last season at the lower end of the league."
